Privacy & cookies.

The short version: we use what you send us to quote for your job and do it. We don't sell it. Ad cookies only go on if you say yes.

Who we are.

OFFKUT is a trading name of Ctrl Alt Elite Studio Ltd. Registered in Wales, company no. 17140083.Ctrl Alt Elite Studio Ltd is the data controller for anything you send through this website, by phone, by email or on WhatsApp. That means we decide how your details are used, and we're responsible for looking after them.

Questions about your data: hello@offkut.co.uk or 07712 096320.

What we collect.

When you ask for a quote

Your name, email, phone number if you give it, the services you pick and whatever you tell us about the job.

When you ask for a free van mock-up

Your name, email and mobile if you give it, your business name and trade, your van, what you want on it, and the photos and logo files you upload.

Where you came from

With either form we also send the page you first landed on, the site that sent you (if any) and any campaign tags in the link you clicked, such as a Google Ads click ID or UTM tags. It tells us which ads are worth paying for.

When you call, email or WhatsApp us

Your number or email address and whatever you tell us. WhatsApp is run by Meta, and its own privacy policy covers how it handles your messages.

When you browse

Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure. If you accept cookies, Google also collects the information described in Cookies.

We don't ask for, and don't want, anything sensitive like health details or payment cards through this site.

Why we use it.

  • To reply, quote and do the job.You asked, so we need your details to answer. That's taking steps at your request before a contract, then performing the contract if you go ahead.
  • To keep records. Invoices and accounts have to be kept by law (legal obligation).
  • To see which ads work.Matching an enquiry to the ad that brought it in, and measuring calls and WhatsApp taps from ads. Cookies for this only go on with your consent. Using the campaign details you send with a form is in our legitimate interest in not wasting money on ads that don't work, and it never decides anything about you.
  • To keep the site safe. Spam filtering and security logs (legitimate interests).

We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you ask us to. We don't sell your details, and we don't use them for automated decisions about you.

Who else sees it.

Only the companies that help us run things, each under contract to look after it and use it only for us:

  • Website hosting (Vercel).
  • Our enquiry system, database and file storage for your form details and uploads (run by Ctrl Alt Elite Studio Ltd on Supabase).
  • Email (Google Workspace) and email delivery services.
  • Google Ads and, if switched on, Google Analytics, for measuring ads. Cookies only with your consent.
  • Our accountants and accounting software, once you're a customer.
  • Suppliers who help us deliver your job, with only the details they need.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK, mainly in the EU and the US. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy rules or approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

We'll also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it.

  • Enquiries and mock-up requests that don't become a job: deleted within 2 years of the last time we spoke, photos and uploads included.
  • Customers: job details and invoices for 6 years after the end of the financial year the job falls in, because tax law says so.
  • Cookies and browser storage: as listed in the table below.

Ask us to delete your details sooner and we will, unless we have to keep them by law.

Your rights.

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you and send you a copy
  • correct anything that's wrong
  • delete it
  • stop or limit using it, or object to how we use it
  • send it to you or someone else in a usable format

Where we rely on your consent (cookies), you can change your mind any time with at the bottom of every page.

Email hello@offkut.co.uk. It's free, and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies.

Cookies and browser storage are small files a site keeps on your device. We use a few of our own that the site needs to work, and Google's ad and analytics cookies only if you say yes when we ask.

Until you choose, and if you say no, Google's tag still loads but in a restricted mode: it doesn't set or read ad cookies, and only sends basic signals without cookies (such as that a page was viewed or a form was sent) that Google uses to estimate how ads are doing without identifying you.

Change your mind any time: .
